The role of Area Sales manager is to coach, lead, motivate and inspire Product Specialists in the Glaucoma and Tears division with the primary aim of maximising contribution, performance and individual development. The manager also has the responsibility to deliver, communicate and support UK / IRE Glaucoma & Tears strategies that ensure the short, medium and long-term success of the Business Unit, and in so doing create learning opportunities and support activities in line with the business focus and ABPI Code of Conduct.

Key Accountabilities:

  • EffectivelyCoach, train, motivate and inspire successful team members to deliver andexceed set sales and productivity targets within your region

  • Leadeach territory team to maximise the selling and business opportunitiesavailable to them to drive market share growth of currently promoted Allerganproducts.

  • Coachand develop effective selling skills and account management skills in line withUK/ IRE G&T strategy

  • Encouragethe sharing of best practice and problem-solving business issues, between teams,both regionally and nationally in order to foster an environment of enthusiasmand positive team spirit.

  • Encouragethe promotion of Allergan Glaucoma & Tears products in line with UK/IREpromotional strategy

  • Ensureall team members are aware of their responsibility to work in a professionaland compliant manner as expected of them by both Allergan and the APBI code ofpractice

  • Identifyand develop commercial relationships with KOLs in the country to drive product advocacythrough activities endorsing Allergan in line with UK/IRE strategies

  • Developand maintain a list of KOLs at Local, Regional and National level ensuringcommercial individual development plans are in place for these customers withrespect to licensed indications and UK/IRE strategies

  • Educatedto degree level, preferably in a scientific subject

  • Significantrelevant experience in pharmaceutical hospital selling or in a Key AccountManagement role

  • Demonstrablesuccess in sales / key account management

  • Demonstrableexperience of Business Planning

  • Demonstrablesuccess in first line field based management

  • Provenability to coach and develop individuals and team

  • Excellentpeople skills

  • Provenability to perform under pressure and remain positive and motivated

  • Demonstrablesuccessful selling skills

  • Excellentrelationship building qualities (External & Internal)

  • Abilityto use own initiative

  • Successfultrack record in using commercial acumen in seeking opportunities to grow thebusiness
