Position Overview

A Manufacturing Operator VI executes the daily tasks associated with the manufacture of pharmaceutical products, including but not limited to the set-up of equipment, the performance of manufacturing steps according to formula and the disassembly and cleaning of equipment. The employee shall also demonstrate the ability to understand and execute manufacturing directions presented in Standard Operating Procedures and Manufacturing Batch Records in compliance with a GMP environment. The Manufacturing Operator VI performs training of other Operators and possesses the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process related problems. The position functions as supervisor delegate in the supervisor’s absence and audits other Operators’ work as appropriate.

Main Areas of Responsibilities

  • Performs manufacturing operations according to Batch Production Record specifications

  • Accurately and clearly completes all required documentation and calculations related to batch documentation

  • Assembles, disassembles and cleans equipment and process rooms according to SOP’s

  • Accomplishes basic operation of computer controlled equipment including interaction with SAP

  • Plans ahead, schedules work that impacts processes to facilitate efficient manufacture of products

  • Operates equipment and test instruments effectively. Troubleshoots equipment and process problems.

  • Regularly completes tasks as assigned to meet production schedules

  • Embraces quality practices and maintains positive relations with co-workers

  • Trains other operators in the performance of their duties relative to both equipment operation and processes

  • Initiates and or directs actions with little or no supervision.

The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:

  • Must have basic literacy in English

  • Must have basic mechanical aptitude

  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform basic math functions

  • Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of GMP’s.

  • Understands the logical sequence of events and processes and its impact on products

  • Must regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 35 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift/move up to 75 pounds assisted. Employee must be able to sit/stand regularly for long periods of time. The position will be required to wear respirator in some processes. Other requirements include stooping and reaching to perform various job tasks and movement of skids using a pallet jack applying 30-75 lbs of force. Employee will frequently climb step ladders/platforms.
