Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to ensure that Quality activities are performed according to the established procedures and conform to applicable regulatory and industry standards and codes.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the management of quality systems related to item numbers, component specifications, inspections and approved manufacturer lists.

  • Performs and documents inspection of in-coming components, raw materials, in process products and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and completes tasks within procedure or department defined timeframes.

  • Performs daily temperature readings for Quality cold rooms, freezers, incubators and room temperature areas.

  • Performs in-house calibration of equipment according to applicable procedures.

  • Assures proactive compliance with federal, state and local environmental and occupational safety regulatory requirements through creation, implementation and auditing for compliance-related Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and administration of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related programs in coordination with other functional areas.

  • Insures all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), supplies, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), clean up materials are identified and maintained on site and employees are properly trained. This includes proper disposal of used materials and chemicals as required by law.

  • Performs incident investigations.

  • Files and maintains records generated to support production, quality and EHS activities.

  • Other tasks as required.

Incumbent has full authority to make decisions and/or take action that is required to carry out job duties. Allergan internal requirements include compliance with ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, cGMP procedures, general business policies, requirements and objectives. The incumbent must be willing to take temporary assignments as required.

Regulated Responsibilities (including cGMP and EHS)

Allergan is a regulated company and the incumbent is expected to be fully compliant with all criteria established by governmental agencies, Ministry of Health, and legislative requirements including, but not limited to: the FDA, European Community (EC), ISO 13485 - Medical Devices, European Economic Community Medical Device Directive (MDD), Canadian Medical Device Regulations (CMDR), OSHA, Sarbanes-Oxley, EPA, DOT, EEOC, and ADA.

Incumbentwill work to ensure that the company is in compliance with all environmental, health and safety requirements and assure our business practices enhance the welfare of our customers, employees and the community in which we operate.


Minimum requirements for this position are:

  • BS/BA degree required.

  • Strong user of Microsoft applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Prefer experience with EHS procedures

  • Prefer experience in a GMP regulated environment

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Be able to move/lift 50 lbs.

  • Be familiar with GMP manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with EHS procedures a plus.
