Position Overview

Summary: Under limited supervision, prepare and support month end close and account reconciliations and audit support. May provide direction, technical assistance to other support areas staff and shared services areas performing a variety of accounting related duties. This is an entry level position of the Accounting Associate series and performs assignments in support of the area of assignment.

  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.

  • Compiles and sorts documents; verifies and posts details of business transactions.

  • Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.

  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.

  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.

  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

  • Performs the processing of monthly journal entry including accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary.

  • Prepares bank reconciliations, and general ledger account reconciliations

  • Prepares inter-company recharges and performs monthly reconciliations of inter-company balances with counter-parties

  • Performs related duties and projects as assigned.


Knowledge of :

• Business and personal computer hardware and software applications. Including but not limited to Excel, Power Point and Word.

• Business English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

• Knowledge of SAP and BPC is a plus.

Skill in:

• Interpreting and following instructions and procedures.

• Operating Business and Personal Computers and using programs or data entry in spreadsheet, financial systems and databases.

• Communicating effectively and professionally with others.

• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
