Position Overview

This individual will be responsible for Payer Strategy and Managed Care Marketing for an assigned Therapeutic Area(s). The Associate Director Payer Marketing will work cross functionally to drive the profitable access and reimbursement for assigned franchise(s), and be the primary owner of brand access strategy, development, and implementation across all segments and channels.

Main Areas of Responsibilities

  • The Associate Director, Payer Marketing will provide managed care marketing strategy and support across all payer and provider segments for the assigned product(s)/therapeutic area(s). Support will include, but not be limited to: overall Access Strategy and tactical tools for each segment, Value Proposition Development, strategic development and execution of specific Managed Care promotional pieces; development of, and participation in, various brand team meetings, Managed Care specific meetings, training, and workshops, as necessary. The individual will lead a cross functional team to achieve overall access goals including but not limited to Brand Team, Pricing, HEOR, HOMSL, Payer Solutions, Account Management, Contracting, Medical, and Sales. They will also coordinate directly with Pricing and HEOR, on overall GTN strategy, Pricing and Identifying gaps in Value Proposition for further study.

  • This individual will have responsibility for various projects to support the AGN branded portfolio. Areas of focus will include, but not limited to : Pull through strategy, Portfolio strategy, Strategic Marketing, Brand Value Proposition Development

  • The Associate Director Payer Marketing will provide leadership to effectively meet brand, market access, and corporate objectives. This individual will establish and maintain effective relationships with peers and all cross-functional team members to promote brand, market access and corporate objectives.

  • The Associate Director Payer Marketing will coordinate with Account Management teams on strategy for National and top regional accounts, including identifying areas for customer collaboration and partnership. It is expected the individual will travel 10-20% of the time to meet with Payer customers

Requirements

The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:

  • The Associate Director Payer Marketing must have a strong back ground and knowledge of the US Reimbursement landscape for pharmaceutical products (both Pharmacy and Medical reimbursement).

  • The individual must be well versed in commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, other government, LTC and specialty segments.

  • The individual ideally should have three –five years of Managed Markets experience in various roles with strong emphasis on product and account strategy.

  • This individual must have a thorough understanding of marketing principles and practices within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry including a demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans, conduct and interpret market research, and understand the regulatory environment.

Education

  • Four year degree required. MBA preferred.
