Position Overview

The Tax Department uses a significant amount of data to execute their critical day to day processes and maintain compliance with local and federal requirements.

The Tax Technology Associate Director will assist the Tax Department with their Data Management needs including the obtaining of data, handling of data through mission-critical tax systems and analysis, the output of tax reporting and filings as well as the warehousing of Tax-related data for reference and compliance purposes.

This position will help improve efficiency and effectiveness of department processes by leveraging existing technology and identifying and implementing new technology as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will be self starter and is willing to lead the effort in process improvements related to technology. This includes identifying areas of focus, collaborating with internal and external teams on potential solutions, developing work plans and effectively executing those plans.

The position will report to the Executive Tax Director within the Tax Reporting and Operations team.


  • Serve as a liaison between the Tax, Accounting,Financial Consolidations, and Information Technology departments improvingthe understanding of the tax departments information technology needs.Serve as the key point person to answer questions related to current andfuture tax Information Technology initiatives.

  • Identify tax technology needs, including opportunities forprocess improvements, automation, efficiency gains, and application of taxprocess and technology best practices via the use of existing technologyand the implementation of new technology.

  • Develop, plan, and manage Information Technologyinitiatives for the tax function, including all current and futuretechnology changes, working with the Information Technology Department toprototype, develop, test, and implement new tax technology.

  • Develop and deliver end user training and maintain userdocumentation of all tax technology.

  • Identify, plan for, and direct all tax data managementand warehousing needs, including record retention and disclosurerequirements.

  • Ensure tax department personnel have proper accessrights to various applications, and ensure tax software applications andhardware are updated and configured to optimize performance of taxtechnology.

  • Maintain the legal entity book configurations and linksbetween the financial systems and tax systems.

  • Assist with coaching and mentoring initiatives and thegrowth and learning of associates.

  • Manage tax application license fees


  • 8 or more years of solid IT background (includes all phases of application development lifecycles)

  • Well versed in financial information reporting systems such as SAP and BPC as well as tax software packages, specifically OneSource and SharePoint

  • Process design and re-engineering experience

  • Strong data skills and handling of large data sets / high volume

  • Strong project management skills and pro-active approach

  • Experience working with tax and accounting professionals

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to write clear concise requirement documents

  • Highly motivated and organized; excellent attention to detail


  • Bachelor’s degree
