Position Overview

This dynamic individual will own Allergan’s retail, specialty pharmacy and fulfillment strategy within a Center of Excellence. The Director will work across Allergan’s enterprise, collaboratively and cross functionally, to recommend strategic solutions which address key retail, specialty pharmacy and fulfillment challenges and opportunities affecting Allergan’s franchises. This creative leader will identify and implement therapeutic-specific programs that accelerate fulfillment of Allergan products, while ensuring patients can access prescribed medications.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • The Director, Retail, Specialty and Fulfillment will own retail and specialty pharmacy strategy and marketing.

  • This experienced leader will create and lead a Center of Excellence that will recommend and implement comprehensive strategies that maximize fulfillment of Allergan medications, HUB management, and E-Prescribing Solutions and technologies.

  • The individual will consult with cross functional teams such as brand marketing, training, and operations, to ensure knowledge transfer and implementation.

  • The Director will identify and implement therapeutic specific point of sale pilot programs with leading retail pharmacies.

  • The leader will work cross functionally with other business leaders to develop creative pilot programs with innovative vendor partners that will alleviate provider and patient obstacles to fulfillment.

  • The individual will own, evaluate, and recommend AGN’s vendor relationships with various PA/Benefits investigation vendors.

  • The leader will own e-prescribing /EMR strategy and tactics including management of Allergan’s Hotline. Additionally, the leader will evaluate and recommend emerging capabilities and impacts to Allergan.

  • The Director will be responsible for commercial strategy in response to key state policies /actions that affect fulfillment of Allergan medications, in coordination with State Govt Affairs

  • This leader will be responsible for management of Allergan’s Patient Assistance Program management and reporting.

  • The Director will represent Allergan at key industry stakeholder groups such as NCPDP, NACDS, and will participate in key workgroups.


The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:

  • The Director, Retail, Specialty and Fulfillment must demonstrate a strong pharmacy and specialty pharmacy background.

  • The leader must demonstrate strong knowledge of the reimbursement landscape for pharmaceutical products delivered under both pharmacy or medical benefit.

  • The candidate must demonstrate a history of success leading cross functional teams that have created and executed complex and innovative ideas.

  • The Director will have demonstrated experience and knowledge of HUB development and management.

  • The candidate will have integrated expertise in emerging technologies related to E-Prescribing, EMR, Prior Authorization, Benefits Investigation, Patients Savings programs

  • The individual will demonstrate strong cross functional leadership and experience that spans multiple therapeutic areas, and across pharmacy and medical benefits.

  • The candidate will demonstrate the ability to build internal and external bridges, in keeping with Allergan core values.

  • The candidate should have 5-10 years experience in pharmaceutical, trade, or payer marketing.


  • Four year degree required. MBA, RPh/Pharm D preferred
