The Director, Corporate Communications based in Madison, NJ will develop and manage the strategic communications plans related to our most important audiences – our colleagues, our investors, our customers, and sometimes our patients, creating communications for our functions or to support integrations. This role is for a proactive problem solver. A strong project manager with excellent and adaptable communications skills to work with all levels inside the organization, including executives, and those outside the organization including customers and vendors.
Main Areas of Responsibilities
Design, develop and execute proactive strategies, programs and tactics to share our bold Allergan identity and supporting efforts to continue to appropriate use of the corporate brand.
Work across the organization and externally to position Allergan as global leader in our therapeutic areas, continue to share and enhance our culture, and prepare and deliver integration communications as appropriate.
Build a network with internal business customers to develop and align messages and communication strategies and support communications, working cross-functionally and acting as a key liaison on select committees where appropriate.
Engage directly with executives to assist in development of executive communications and presentations.
Collaborate on the development of company-wide materials including the company magazine, corporate website and intranet, corporate overview presentation, and other materials that support our business.
Manage external communications firms in developing strategies, plans and materials, as well as in executing initiatives and programs.
Oversee and manage colleagues to meet functional goals.
The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:
- Minimum 10 years of communications experience, preferably in a corporate or consultative environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The below skills are attributes that may not be mandatory, but are definitely desired in the ideal candidate.
Demonstrated experience in developing comprehensive communications plans and strategies managing external relationships.
Dual talents of strong strategic abilities and a keen understanding of the role communications plays in helping the company achieve its strategic business objectives.
Developed and demonstrated sound strategic ability, good judgment and business acumen with a high degree of passion and aptitude for creating the voice of the business.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with all levels of employees in a team-oriented manner.
Ability to present often complex information in a clear and compelling manner to audiences of varying levels.
Strategic communications planner and a significant hands-on contributor, with superior writing and communications skills.
Must be creative, persuasive and diplomatic in presenting ideas and manage their implementation.
- Bachelor's Degree with Preferred education in Communication, Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations or related field, from an accredited college or university.
