Position Overview

Sr. Manager level Packaging Engineer with experience in primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging for medical devices and drug/device combination products. Under limited supervision, this position will support the Global Packaging Technology department by leading technical packaging projects to ensure successful commercialization of new products. Incumbent will provide routine packaging development assistance to internal and third party manufacturing sites including troubleshooting of technical packaging problems, new technology introduction, technical transfers, and packaging optimization projects.


Technical project leader on cross functional launch teams to support tech transfer from R&D to commercialization including scale up activities and shipping validation

Lead projects to design and implement post-approval primary and secondary packaging components for a variety of medical device and pharmaceutical product types

Lead troubleshooting efforts on marketed products with respect to technical packaging performance issues, cost improvements, compliance requirements, analytical method changes, etc.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device field

Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies (includes Licenses, Credentials)

  • Demonstrated ability to progress with the packaging project from inception to commercialization

  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), packaging regulations and trends in pharmaceutical, medical, and combination products

  • Demonstrated project team leadership for cross functional teams


  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
